Hotel Panamericano is on the outskirts of the capital and is part of the sports facilities built in 1991 for the Pan-American Games. It is close to Santa Maria beach and the fishing village of Cojimar, the setting of Hemingway’s novel The Old Man and the Sea. Hotel Panamericano has 81 air-conditioned rooms, including doubles, suites and junior suites, with radio, telephone, and color TV.

Facilities include three restaurants, lobby bar, piano bar, snack bar, grill, The Toro Steak House restaurant which serves exclusive meals made with beef from Western Canada, art gallery, VIP room, video room, meeting room, swimming pool, videobar, gym, sauna, massage, currency exchange, safety deposit box, tourist bureau,, unisex hairdresser’s, medical services, drugstore, optical center, parking lot, fax, cibercafé, national and international telephone, games arcade, bakery, children’s playground, shops, grocery, motorbike rental, taxis and rent-a-car.
